In the 12th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, Multan Sultans defeated Lahore Qalandars by 33 runs to register their first victory of the season.
In the match played in Multan, Multan Sultans’ captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and chose to bat first — a decision that proved correct. Thanks to aggressive batting by Yasir Khan, Multan Sultans posted a total of 228 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
While chasing the target, apart from Sikandar Raza, no Lahore Qalandars batter could stay long at the crease. The entire team managed 195 runs for 9 wickets in their 20 overs.
Lahore Qalandars Batting
Chasing a target of 229, Fakhar Zaman gave a fiery start but couldn’t convert it into a long innings and was dismissed after scoring 32 runs off 14 balls.
Mohammad Naeem scored 11 runs, Abdullah Shafique managed 18, and Daryl Mitchell was out after scoring 19. Rashid Hussain and Shaheen Afridi contributed 2 runs each, while Asif Afridi was dismissed for 4 runs.
Sam Billings played a 43-run innings off 23 balls, while Sikandar Raza scored a 50-run knock off 26 balls.
For Multan Sultans, Ubaid Shah took 3 wickets, Usama Mir and Michael Bracewell claimed 2 wickets each, and Josh Little and David Willey picked up a wicket apiece.
Multan Sultans Innings
Earlier, unlike previous matches, Multan Sultans started with a new opening pair who gave the team an aggressive start. Yasir Khan and Mohammad Rizwan shared a 89-run partnership in the first 7 overs.
Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed after scoring 32 runs off 17 balls. Usman Khan contributed 39 runs off 24 balls. Ashton Turner and Michael Bracewell scored 15 and 9 runs respectively.
However, Yasir Khan — replacing Shai Hope in the playing XI — scored a half-century in his first match of the season, smashing 87 runs off 44 balls with 6 sixes and 6 fours.
Iftikhar Ahmed played a blistering knock in the final overs, remaining not out on 40 runs off 18 balls with 3 sixes and 3 fours.
From Lahore Qalandars, Rashid Hussain took 2 wickets, while Asif Afridi, Sikandar Raza, and Shaheen Shah Afridi took 1 wicket each. Haris Rauf turned out to be the most expensive bowler, conceding 54 runs in 3 overs.

In the match held at Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan Sultans’ captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and opted to bat first.
Lahore Qalandars made no changes to their playing XI, while Multan Sultans made two changes — bringing in Yasir Khan and Joshua Little in place of Aqif Javed and Shai Hope.
