WEBDESK: In a recent announcement, the All Pakistan Private Schools Association in Rawalpindi has confirmed that all private schools in the city will remain closed on Saturday, April 26, as part of a nationwide 26 April strike. The decision comes as a show of solidarity with the people of Palestine.

According to Abrar Khan, the president of the association, the 26 April strike is a peaceful way for the education community to stand with Palestinians and raise awareness about their struggles. The association emphasized that the closure is a symbolic gesture, joining hands with others across Pakistan who are protesting in support of the cause.

The move is part of a wider initiative where several groups and organizations have planned events and strikes to express unity with Palestine. As part of this, the educational sector in Rawalpindi will also participate by shutting down all private schools for one day.

Parents and students are advised to stay updated through their school administrations regarding further instructions. Teachers have also been asked to observe the strike and refrain from conducting any online classes or academic activities during the day.

This 26 April strike is expected to see participation from many sectors, but the involvement of the education community, especially schools, sends a strong message of empathy and support. The strike is not just about closing schools; it is meant to spark conversations, spread awareness, and encourage humanitarian concern for global issues.

The 26 April strike marks yet another occasion where Pakistan’s civil society is taking a stand on international humanitarian issues. With educational institutions leading the way in Rawalpindi, the strike is likely to be observed widely and peacefully.
