WEBDESK: Pakistani javelin star Arshad Nadeem has respectfully turned down an invitation from India’s Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra to participate in the Bengaluru Classic Javelin Throw Championship. The event is scheduled to take place on May 24 in Bengaluru, India.

According to sources close to Arshad Nadeem, the athlete has a tightly packed training and competition schedule for the year. He expressed his gratitude to Neeraj Chopra for the kind invitation but stated that he will not be able to make it due to prior commitments.

Arshad Nadeem is preparing to represent Pakistan at the upcoming Asian Athletics Championship, which will be held in South Korea from May 27. To adjust to the conditions and ensure optimal performance, he is expected to leave for Korea on May 22, just two days before the Bengaluru event.

In a letter to Neeraj Chopra, Arshad Nadeem thanked his Indian counterpart and wished him great success for the Bengaluru competition. The two athletes share a strong sense of mutual respect, having competed side by side at several global events, including the World Athletics Championships.

While fans on both sides of the border were eager to see the two javelin giants compete once again, Arshad Nadeem’s decision highlights his dedication to long-term training goals and national representation.
