WEBDESK: Virat Kohli has once again made headlines by breaking another major T20 cricket record. During the recent IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals, Virat Kohli scored an impressive 70 runs off 42 balls. His innings included eight boundaries and two sixes.

This knock helped him reach a historic milestone – he is now the first cricketer to score over 3,500 T20 runs at a single venue. Playing at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Virat Kohli has accumulated a total of 3,556 T20 runs, a record unmatched by any other player.

Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim follows Kohli with 3,373 runs at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, while England’s James Vince and Alex Hales have amassed 3,253 and 3,241 runs at the Rose Bowl and Trent Bridge respectively.

Tamim Iqbal, also of Bangladesh, rounds out the top five with 3,238 runs at Mirpur.

This was also his fifth half-century of the current IPL season, taking his total runs to 392, making him the top run-scorer for RCB so far. He’s now second in the race for the Orange Cap, awarded to the highest run-getter in the tournament.

What makes this feat more special is that Virat Kohli is now tied with Gujarat Titans’ Sai Sudharsan for the most 50+ scores this season – both have five each. Despite RCB facing challenges in the tournament, Kohli’s consistent performances are a bright spot for the team and fans alike.
