Punjab govt notifies Youm-e-Takbeer holiday

The Punjab government on Monday notified a public holiday for Youm-e-Takbeer on May 28. As per the notification, all public and private offices in all cities of Punjab, including Lahore, Gujranwala, and Rawalpindi , will remain closed on May 28.

Similarly, all the public and private institutions in the province, will also remain closed in observance of Youm-e-Takbeer.

This year will mark the 27th anniversary of successful nuclear tests conducted by Pakistan in May 1998.

NADRA offices to remain closed on Youm-e-Takbeer

All National Database and Registration Authority NADRA offices will remain closed on Wednesday, 28 May. The 24-hour service centres will close at midnight on 27 May.
These centres will reopen at midnight between 28 and 29 May. During the closure, NADRA services will be available on the Pak ID mobile app.

On May 28, 1998, Pakistan emerged as the first Muslim-majority country to acquire nuclear capabilities, marking a pivotal moment in its history. This achievement was a response to the regional security dynamics and ensured that Pakistan’s defence capabilities were robust as well as credible.
