National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday filed reference against the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur after alleged irregularities in wheat procurement and sale.
According to details, mega corruption has been revealed in the wheat procurement of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
CM Gandapur allegedly gave the procurement contract to three frontmen for the purchase of wheat. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Department bought cheap wheat from Punjab through the frontmen and sold it at a high price.
The treasury was injected with crores of rupees in the purchase of 24.5 metric tons of wheat for DI Khan. Wheat was purchased from the Punjab and Sindh governments at double the price.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government purchased wheat from local traders and suppliers at high prices.
In a separate case, NAB has also filed reference against CM Ali Amin Gandapur regarding recruitment of Patwaris in Dera Ismail Khan. According to NAB sources, the number of patwaris was increased from 24 to 36 without any correspondence with the Secretary Revenue.
No advertisement was even given in the newspaper for the recruitment of Patwaris. Under the pressure of the Chief Minister, the age limit was also ignored in the recruitment.
According to the reference filed, bribes amounting to almost Rs36 million were taken in illegal recruitment of Patwaris in DI Khan.
