Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Junior, the son of Murtaza Bhutto, has announced his entry into national politics to fulfill his late father’s vision.
“My father, Shaheed Mir Murtaza Bhutto left behind a powerful political legacy based on politics for the people by the people. His vision was left tragically unfulfilled by his early martyrdom. While he also left behind a party – Pakistan People’s Party Shaheed Bhutto (PPPSB),” announced Zulfiqar Junior in a long post on his Instagram page.
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Jr also noted that he is still learning about the political landscape of Pakistan from its people, adding that he intends to listen to all the diverse voices across the nation.
“I see Pakistan as a natural and sacred geography united by the Indus Basin, majestic mountains, deserts and forests.”
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Jr is quite active on social media for his social activism, particularly about climate change impacts on the people of Sindh.
He expressed his concerns about the looming water crisis in Sindh, stating that it is a form a cultural genocide.
Meanwhile, Zulfiqar Junior’s sister and writer, Fatima Bhutto also took to social media to show support to her brother, writing: “Whatever path he takes in life, my brother @zulfikaralibhutto has my full support. I will stand by him always.”
