ISLAMABAD: Senior civil-military leadership participated in a high-level meeting at the Prime Minister’s House on Friday, where it was decided to counter anti-state narratives by using national themes in films and dramas.

According to details, all four chief ministers of provinces attended the meeting along with representatives from Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

The high-level huddle decided to expose the sympathisers and attackers of Jaffar Express train hijacking by using traditional and digital media.

It was also agreed that National Action Plan (NAP) would be implemented in its true essence to fight against terrorism and extremism in Pakistan.

The senior leadership reaffirmed their commitment for complete cooperation and coordination among all provinces against national threats.

Any anti-national content on social media would be countered by the state using national narratives in entertainment industry. It was decided that the youth of Pakistan would be given awareness through these projects.

The national themes would include the negative social impacts of terrorism, combat fake news on social media, respond to false information and content created through deepfakes and other sources with authentic information.

The national curriculum would also focus on increasing awareness about terrorism in the country.

The development comes after spades of terrorist attacks have shaken the social fabric of Pakistani society. The security situation has significantly deteriorated, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The recent Jaffar Express train attack was the first of its kind when terrorists from Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) took more than 400 passengers hostage earlier this month.

Security forces managed to free all the hostages in a day long complex operation, killing 33 terrorists. However, the terrorists had killed more than 20 people before the operation began.

Meanwhile, the Global Terrorism Index 2025 reported Pakistan as the second most terrorism-affected country last year.
