Turkish-Pakistani influencer Turkan Atay has taken to her social media pages to call out popular clothing brand founder, Maria B, for allegedly not paying her for a self-funded shoot in Turkey.
Turkan Atay took to her Instagram account, boasting more than 800,000 followers, to post multiple detailed videos recounting the entire incident with details.
“In the beginning of 2025, Maria B wanted to collaborate with me for a shoot in Istanbul. I funded the entire production from professional photographers to renting the location in Istanbul. I have the screenshots of entire interaction with her team,” she stated.
“Everything got done with their satisfaction. But in the end, they sent me an overall amount which did not match the amount that was agreed beforehand. I told them that this is not right as we did not agree to this. And they responded with regret that it is a misunderstanding and it will be corrected.”
Turkan Atay said that Maria B is a huge brand and it is nearly impossible that they made a simple mistake which could not be corrected over the course of three months when she kept reminding them.
“I promise that I am not making this video for the money which I am owed. The amount which I am entitled to does not even matter to such big brands. The only reason I am speaking out is because you talk so much about Islam, rights of people, so much activism about Palestine. We are both Muslims and there was an agreement between us which you refused to honor,” Atay said in the video.
She further stated that whatever money she receives from Maria B, she will donate it to charity. She claimed that it has been three months since she started asking them and reminding their team but they keep making excuses.
Maria B’s response
Maria B’s official brand page on Instagram posted a story, where the company showed regret over “misunderstanding that they were committed to resolve.”

They further added, “A meeting had been set up to address the issue, but the influencer chose to make a defaming reel instead of accepting to resolve the issue amicably.”
It merits a mention that Maria B has been vocally quite supportive of Palestinian rights with her clothing brand even launching an exclusive “Palestine Collection” on their website.
Following the Maria B’s story, Turkan Atay uploaded another detailed video with screenshots of the messages that took place between her and Maria B.
Atay then also shared an update on her story, revealing that Maria B and her team has blocked her on social media and also deleted all the messages.

“It has come to my attention that this is not the first time she has done this with artists and influencers. After reading all your comments, I realized that she runs her business by making profit over Gaza tragedy,” she stated.
Social media users expressed support for the Turkish-Pakistani influencer across social media platforms, with many calling out Maria B for honoring her agreement.
