WEBDESK: Pakistani cricketer Sahibzada Farhan has officially joined Islamabad United for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 after an outstanding run in the National T20 Cup. His record-breaking performances in domestic cricket earned him a spot in the squad as the 20th player in the supplementary category.
Sahibzada Farhan started his PSL journey with Islamabad United in 2018 as an emerging player and was part of their title-winning campaign. Over the years, he played for different teams, including Lahore Qalandars, but now he returns to Islamabad United as they prepare to defend their championship.
His selection comes after a phenomenal run in the National T20 Cup, where he scored 605 runs in just seven innings, including three centuries. One of his most remarkable achievements was scoring an unbeaten 162 runs, which is now the joint third-highest individual score in T20 history. His consistency and aggressive batting made him one of the most talked-about players in domestic cricket.
Head coach Mike Hesson praised Farhan’s domestic experience and form, noting that the team’s focus is on building bench strength. “Sahibzada’s domestic form and experience make him someone who can slot into the XI whenever required and deliver,” Hesson added.
He highlighted that the batsman’s recent performances make him a valuable addition to the squad. Even though Sahibzada Farhan was not selected in the initial PSL 10 draft, his exceptional display in domestic cricket forced selectors to reconsider.
With PSL 10 just around the corner, Islamabad United is looking to strengthen its lineup, and the return of Sahibzada Farhan adds more firepower to their batting order. Fans are excited to see how he performs on the big stage after proving his talent at the domestic level.
