Apple is gearing up for what could be one of the most exciting makeovers in the history of its iOS and macOS software, according to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg.
In his Power On newsletter, Gurman shared that iOS 19 is set to feature a new design inspired by the software running on Apple’s Vision Pro headset, called visionOS. This means users can expect a sleeker look with more transparent elements, new window styles, and fresh button designs, creating a smoother and more unified experience across Apple devices.
Some leaks have already hinted at these changes, especially in the Camera app, and it’s likely that this new design will also affect things like notifications and other parts of the system. With multiple sources confirming these rumours, it seems almost certain that big updates are on the way.
Gurman also noted that the iPad and Mac won’t be left out, with iPadOS 19 and macOS 16 also getting similar design upgrades. He went on to say that these changes will be the biggest shake-up since iOS 7 was introduced.
We can expect Apple to announce iOS 19 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2025, with a beta version available for developers soon after. The full release will likely arrive in September, alongside the new iPhone 17 series.
In short, it looks like Apple users are in for a fresh, modernised experience across their devices this year!
