WEBDESK: A powerful explosion in Akora Khattak at Haqqania Madrasa on Friday, has left multiple people injured, triggering a swift emergency response. The blast occurred at Jamia Darul Uloom Haqqania after the Jumma prayers.

According to Rescue 1122, six ambulances, along with medical and fire teams, were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Rescue teams are actively working to transfer the injured to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention.

Authorities have determined the cause of the explosion to a suicide bomb blast, with police confirming that investigations are underway.

District Police Officer (DPO) Nowshehra reported that emergency response teams (firefighters, medical teams, security forces, Rescue 1122) are on-site at the Haqqania Madrasa explosion. Security forces have sealed off the area, urging residents to remain cautious as investigations continue.

Rescue sources have confirmed to Azaad English that almost 20 people have been transferred to nearby hospitals.

According to DPO Nowshehra, Abdul Rasheed, at least 4 people have been killed while several others have been injured in the Haqqania Madrasa explosion.

“It appears that Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani was the target,” the KP Inspector Genral, Zulfiqar Hameed told Samaa TV.

“It appears to be a suicide blast, as per initial investigations. Some are injured and some are among the martyrs.”

Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah has confirmed that Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani is among those who lost their lives.

An emergency has been declared in all hospitals and health facilities across Peshawar by the KP Health Department with immediate effect

Maulana Haqqani, the elder son of the assassinated Maulana Samiul Haq, was the chief of JUI-S and is among those who lost their lives.
