Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir shut down Indian journalist Arnab Goswami after he openly threatened Pakistani channels Geo News and ARY News.

Hamid Mir said, “Are you a journalist or a terrorist? How can you make threats to Pakistanis? You are nothing but a loser.”

Arnab, in a very blunt manner on national Indian TV, said, “Stop watching the nonsense on Geo News and ARY News. These channels are lying to you.”

He claimed that Republic TV is the largest news network of India, despite its sensationalism and fake news — which the world witnessed during the escalations between Pakistan and India.

He then threatened Pakistan by saying, “We are active against you. We will finish your terrorists and destroy your army if you don’t know how to behave.”

It has been reported that over repeated claims of disseminating fake news focused on the India-Pakistan conflict, the Ministry of Home Affairs is apparently considering a ban on Republic TV and its editor-in-chief, Arnab Goswami.

He has has come under fire over years for misrepresenting important national security events, overstretching military operations, and disseminating dubious information that can set off conflict between two neighbors with nuclear weapons.

The Home Ministry is looking at multiple cases whereby news shown on Republic TV deceived viewers, misrepresented facts, and produced a hostile environment.
