As Eidul Fitr 2025 holidays approach, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a hot and dry weather across the country.

The PMD has advised the people to avoid going outdoors and avoid any strenuous activities during the peak heat hours.

According to details, the dry and hot weather will persist in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, along with other parts of the country due to the continental air.

Furthermore, the PMD announced that citizens should not expect cool or rainy weather in the coming days as even the plains are expected to see increased temperatures.

Most districts of Balochistan will experience hot and dry weather, while Sindh will also experience dry weather but face strong winds.

Islamabad is also likely to witness increasing temperature over the next few hours, while Punjab will likely see strong winds.

The province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) might see cloudy skies, particularly the upper districts. Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are also likely to experience dry weather.

Temperatures across the region are expected to rise from April 4, reaching as much as scorching 39°C.

Meanwhile, PMD has also revealed that Karachi’s metropolitan areas will experience such hot weather that it might create heatwave conditions.

The heatwave conditions will occur due to the urban heat island effect. An urban heat island occurs when a city experiences much warmer temperatures than nearby rural areas.

The temperature difference is usually larger at night than during the day, and is most apparent when winds are weak.

Chief Meteorologist Muhammad Afzal disclosed that Karachi may experience rise in temperatures by 3°C to 4°C above normal levels during daytime.
