MASTUNG: In an unfortunate development, a suicide bomber allegedly attempted to target a Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) rally near Mastung’s Lak Pass on Saturday.
Balochistan government has noted that a public sit-in was going on near the place where the attack occurred.
According to government sources, no casualties have been reported, while the leadership of BNP, including Sardar Akhtar Mengal, remained safe in the attack.
“A delegation from BNP Mengal met the administration last night as well, after which the government delegation agreed to meet Sardar Akhtar Mengal today,” stated the Balochistan government spokesperson.
The Balochistan government is conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. The provincial government also assured that the safety of the sit-in participants, including Sardar Akhtar Mengal, other leadership and the public is the responsibility of the government.
