RAWALPINDI: In an interesting development, founder Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has received a few gifts in Adiala Jail where he is currently imprisoned ahead of Eidul Fitr 2025.
According to media reports, the former Prime Minister Imran Khan has received special clothes for Eidul Fitr, along with other items in Adiala Jail.
A waistcoat has also been provided with the new suit to compliment the complete attire. Interestingly, Khan also received 4 new pair of shoes with new clothes.
Imran Khan’s Eid gifts will be handed over to the Adiala Jail authorities before they’re turned over to him.
Last week, PTI’s ally Chairman Sunni Ittehad Counsil Sahibzada Hamid Raza alleged that Imran Khan was provided stale food in prison.
His claims came in light of media reports that alleged that Khan’s customised food menu’s cost allegedly jumped from Rs 400,000-500,000 to Rs700,000-800,000 monthly after Bushra Bibi was also arrested.
Khan’s highly customised menu reportedly had fresh juice and fruits in breakfast, three coffees a day, pink salmon, and desi chicken broth while all the entire menu is inspected by nutritionists.
Sahibzada Raza dismissed the reports, alleging: “If the story of Imran Khan getting food of his choice is proven true then I will resign from the National Assembly. I can say this on stand that Imran Khan is given stale bread (baasi roti). I am saying this in the condition of fast in holy month of Ramadan.”
He also claimed that Khan was given a wooden stand instead of a bed without any pillow for four months.
On March 24, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) restored Imran Khan’s right to meet visitors twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday) while in Adiala jail.
The ruling was made by a three-member bench, led by Acting Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar, in response to multiple petitions regarding Imran Khan’s jail conditions.
