You can now watch Instagram Reels at 2x speed, as the social media platform has rolled out a new update. According to CNET, an Instagram spokesperson recently confirmed the advent of a feature that users have been requesting for a long time: the option to fast-forward a video at twice the speed. The most recent feature on Reels differs from what Meta previously offered in that it allows users to scroll through the clip using the dedicated progress bar or skip ahead or back by 10 seconds in videos.
Users may now have the option to expedite the viewing experience rather than needing to watch a video through to the end before scrolling away.

Initially Instagram allowed users to upload reels that were no longer than 15 seconds. Videos up to three minutes in length can now be shared by users.
In recent months, Instagram has been introducing various changes, some appreciated by users, others not so much. For instance, the platform recently altered the size of the pictures displayed on the profile grid, a move that received mixed reactions and was disliked by many users.
