WEBDESK: After recent rainfall in different parts of the country, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather update predicting cold and dry conditions for most regions in the next 24 hours.

Rain and Snow Expected in Northern Areas

According to the latest weather update, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan may experience rain and strong winds over the next three days. Snowfall is also expected in mountainous areas.

In Mansehra, the rain has stopped, and sunshine has made the weather pleasant. Snowfall in Kaghan Valley and Shogran had blocked roads, but machinery has been sent to clear them. Similarly, in Upper Hazara Division, including Battagram, Kohistan, and Torghar, the rain has ended, and the sun is shining again.

Karachi to Remain Hot and Humid

Meanwhile, Karachi is experiencing extreme heat. The latest weather update suggests temperatures could feel as high as 38°C during the day. Currently, the city’s weather remains partly cloudy and humid.

Over the past 24 hours, Karachi recorded a maximum temperature of 36°C. For today, temperatures are expected to stay between 34-36°C during the day and 22-24°C at night.

Air Quality Worsens in Karachi

According to the weather update, the air quality in Karachi has worsened due to shifting wind patterns. The Air Quality Index (AQI) ranks Karachi 11th among the most polluted cities worldwide and 3rd in Pakistan. The AQI recorded 148 particulate matter (PM), making the air unhealthy to breathe.

With winter settling in across most regions, citizens should stay updated on weather changes and take necessary precautions.
