Weather update: partly cloudy, dry conditions across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: According to the weather update by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) partly cloudy and dry weather for several regions across the country. Islamabad and its surrounding areas are expected to see partly cloudy skies, while the majority of districts in Punjab will remain dry. The northern regions may experience some cloud cover, but overall, the weather will stay mostly clear. Southern districts of Punjab, however, are likely to experience higher temperatures in the coming days, signaling a rise in heat during the spring season.

Islamabad and Rawalpindi weather update

The PMD has predicted that Islamabad and Rawalpindi will experience more rain and gusty winds on Thursday evening and night. The ongoing continental air over most of the country is expected to bring isolated rain and drizzle, especially in the twin cities and surrounding areas. The weather in these regions will be subject to rapid changes, with gusty winds accompanying any rain showers.

Islamabad experienced a rainfall on Wednesday evening, with thunderstorms and heavy clouds in the sky.

The minimum temperature in Islamabad is likely to remain between 11°C and 13°C on Friday and between 12°C and 14°C on Saturday. In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature will range between 15°C and 17°C on Friday and between 16°C and 18°C on Saturday. These temperature ranges indicate a mild and comfortable atmosphere, with slightly cooler nights expected in the coming days.

Balochistan weather update

Balochistan will likely experience partly cloudy conditions across many of its upper and central districts. While the weather will generally remain dry, some areas may experience isolated rain and thunderstorms, especially in districts like Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Sahiwal. Gusty winds may accompany these weather disturbances, bringing brief but intense weather changes.

Sindh Weather update

In Sindh, dry weather will dominate most districts. However, isolated rain and thunderstorms are expected to impact areas in the northern parts of the province, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, and nearby regions. These areas may see brief spells of rain and thunderstorms, though the weather in the majority of Sindh will remain dry.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Weather update

The weather in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to remain partly cloudy to dry. While no significant rainfall is forecasted, occasional cloud cover may provide some relief from the sun in certain areas. This will contribute to a mild and manageable weather pattern across the province.

Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir weather update

Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are also forecasted to experience dry and partly cloudy weather. Conditions in these areas will remain relatively calm, with no major weather events expected. These regions may enjoy some sunshine, offering pleasant spring-like weather for residents and visitors alike.

Looking ahead, dry weather is expected to return to most parts of Pakistan on Friday and Saturday. While the weather will remain dry across the country, cold conditions will persist in higher altitudes, particularly in northern and hilly areas. These areas will experience lower temperatures, contributing to the chilly weather in the mountains.

In the last 24 hours, dry weather prevailed across most parts of Pakistan, with cold temperatures in higher altitudes. However, there were some notable rainfall events in the twin cities and other areas, including Kashmir, upper Punjab, Bagrote, and Kakul. The rainfall was generally light but significant in certain regions, providing some much-needed precipitation in these areas.

Leh, located in the northern region, remained the coldest place in Pakistan, with temperatures dropping as low as 04°C below freezing. Other cold spots, such as Astore, Bagrote, and Kalam, recorded temperatures around 01°C. In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 10°C, while Rawalpindi experienced a minimum temperature of 13°C. Relative humidity levels were also reported, with Islamabad recording 79% and Rawalpindi at 53%.

With the weather continuing to shift across the country, residents are advised to stay updated on the latest forecasts, especially in areas expecting rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds.
