WEBDESK: Light to heavy rainfall in various parts of Islamabad on Thursday morning brought relief from the heat in the latest weather update.

Islamabad and other cities of Punjab had been grappling with heat for the past week.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had earlier forecast heavy rain and thunderstorms across the capital and in different cities of the country in the latest weather update.

Along with Islamabad, Rawalpindi also experienced heavy rainfall along with strong wind storm.

This unexpected spell of rain has brought a sudden drop in temperatures, which had been rising steadily in recent weeks. The PMD says that the weather is likely to remain unstable over the the next few days.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the weather is expected to remain cloudy in most districts, with rain predicted in Chitral, Shangla, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Kohistan, and Mansehra.

While most districts of Punjab will remain hot and dry, rain is expected in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, and Mianwali.

In Sindh, the sky will remain partly cloudy in most areas, with rain and thunderstorms expected in Tharparkar and Mirpurkhas.

Most districts of Balochistan will also experience partly cloudy weather, with possible thunderstorms and rain in Quetta, Chaman, Ziarat, Barkhan, and Sibi.

Strong winds, thunderstorms, and rain are also forecasted in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

The Met Office has predicted that the spell of rain and hail may persist until Friday, with further chances of rain and thunderstorms across the next few days.

The Meteorological Department has advised the public to keep an eye on weather updates and take precautionary measures during rainfall.
