South Indian famous actor Vijay Deverakonda has come under fire over his recent comments on Pahalgam incident.
A case was filed in India by a lawyer after Vijay compared the incident to centuries-old conflicts between tribal communities.
What did Vijay Deverakonda say?
At an event, he said, “India does not even need to attack Pakistan because Pakistanis themselves are fed up with their government and will attack them if this continues. They behave like tribals did 500 years ago, fighting without common sense.”
Later, Vijay Deverakonda apologised to those who felt hurt by his words and message. He even wrote how he has always thought about the upliftment and unity in people.
“If any part of my message was misunderstood or hurtful, I express my sincere regret. My only aim was to speak of peace, progress, and togetherness. I remain committed to using my platform to uplift and unify — never to divide,” he concluded.

It is pertinent to mention that India’s growing hatred towards Pakistan is now visible to everyone. In a rather petty move, the Modi government has banned the Instagram accounts of Pakistani actors such as Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, and Fawad Khan in India — despite these celebrities having millions of followers across the border. Now, Indian fans are forced to use VPNs just to view the profiles of their favourite stars.
It is also important to note that these Pakistani actors had strongly condemned the Pahalgam incident and called for unity against terrorism. They did not speak ill of Indian citizens nor did they promote any kind of violence or hostility.
