The Indian government has banned the Instagram account of Pakistani female actor Hania Aamir in India, amid recent tensions with Pakistan. Aamir’s account became inaccessible to Indian users on Wednesday, April 30.
Hania Aamir has 18.4 million followers on Instagram. In recent times, she has gained popularity on social media, especially on Instagram, for her candid posts and daily vlogs. Aamir has a fan following not only in Pakistan but in India as well. Her account being banned is a disappointment for her Indian fans, many of whom are expressing their frustration on social media.
The users trying to access Hania Aamir’s Instagram account in India get the message: “This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content.”
Aamir’s Indian fan following increased after her video went viral on social media while attending Diljit Dosanjh’s concert. She also stays in the headlines for her friendship with Indian rapper Badshah.
Earlier, Indian media reported that Hania Aamir has been replaced in Sardaar Ji 3, an upcoming Indian Punjabi film starring Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa. However, as of now, no such announcement has been made by Aamir or the makers of the movie.
