LAHORE: In a tragic incident in Lahore, popular content creator TikToker Ayat Maryam murdered by her husband following a domestic dispute. The incident took place in the Nawab Town area, where police say a minor argument between the couple turned deadly.
According to the authorities, Ayat Maryam was allegedly strangled to death by her husband, Saad. The couple was reportedly involved in frequent arguments, and the latest one ended in violence that claimed the young TikToker’s life.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Ghayur Ahmad Khan confirmed that Nawab Town Police responded swiftly and used modern technology to track and arrest the suspect within 24 hours of the incident. Saad is now in police custody and has been handed over to the investigation wing for further questioning.
Initial police reports suggest that domestic tension had been growing between the couple for some time. Authorities noted that arguments between them were frequent, although none had previously escalated to violence.
“A case has been registered, and we are currently investigating the exact motive behind the murder,” said SP Dr. Ghayur. “More details are expected to come to light as we continue our inquiry.”
