WEBDESK: The Senate on Thursday passed a resolution condemning the Indian government’s ongoing actions following the Palgharam incident. The resolution states that India is pursuing a malicious and hostile agenda, operating on the basis of bad faith.

The resolution rejects the baseless allegations leveled against Pakistan and affirms that Pakistan strongly condemns all forms of terrorism.

During the Senate session, the Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar expressed his concerns over rising tensions with India, emphasizing that the Indus Water Treaty can only be revoked through mutual consultation.

He further stressed that water is the lifeline for Pakistan’s 240 million people, warning that future wars are predicted to be fought over water.

Ishaq Dar further said,” Cutting off water would be tantamount to war.” He added that Pakistan has decided to review and potentially cancel the Simla Agreement and other bilateral accords. “Wagah border has been closed.”, he added.

“Holding Pakistan responsible for the Palgharam incident is regrettable”, said Ishaq Dar, adding that India’s actions against Pakistan imply that it is directly blaming the country without evidence.

He announced that Pakistan has closed its airspace to India and warned that any hostile gaze towards the country will be met with a strong response, just like in the past.
