After the incident, he was arrested instantly for keeping the wild animal without a license.

When he got released, the court asked him to create videos on his YouTube channel on animal welfare. He was given an order to make a five-minute video per month for a year to educate his audience.

In a statement, Butt said he regretted accepting the cub and admitted that “keeping wild animals in such circumstances is inappropriate”.

“As a social media influencer, I should create positive content. I was not authorised to keep the lion cub, and by doing so, I set a wrong example,” he added.
