WEBDESK (Azaad English): The government of Punjab announced the new Ramadan office timings. An official notification is shared by the Services and General Administration Department.

The office timings for all Punjab Civil Secretariat departments will be from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, the working hours will be from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Government offices in Punjab follow these operational times for their public service period during Ramadan.

These adjustments intend to establish work hours that combine efficient productivity with enough time for federal officials to maintain their faith practices throughout Ramadan.

The federal administration announced new Ramadan office timings that differ according to the number of operating days per week.

For offices following a five-day workweek, the working hours will be from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, while on Fridays, offices will operate from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

In the case of offices with a six-day workweek, the working hours will be from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, with Friday’s schedule also set from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

During Ramadan the workplace timings established by the government serve to assist both workers and fasting employees with their work and prayer commitments.

Pakistan Railways New Ramadan Office Timings:

The Pakistan Railways management has introduced new Ramadan office timings.

Reservation offices of Pakistan Railways will operate with new working hours specifically for the month of Ramadan. The reservation offices operating through two work shifts have established their working timetable as follows:

The morning shift will operate from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM, while the evening shift will run from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM.The reservation office adopts a Friday prayer schedule running from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM daily.

Schedules for offices running one shift of operations will maintain their standard working hours. Reservation offices will maintain these new operating hours from beginning to end during Ramadan until they resume their ordinary business hours on the 15th of Ramadan.

Moon Sighting and Ramadan

During the discussions the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting in Peshawar made their assessments about Ramadan moon sighting. Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad declared there was no moon sighting present across the entirety of Pakistan territory. The commencement of Roza fasting will occur on Sunday March 2.

Members of zonal committees in major cities including Lahore and Karachi and Quetta and Islamabad unanimously agreed that they did not observe the moon.

The modified work hours enable public servants together with residents to fulfill religious rituals while Ramadan proceedings continue without interruption.
