A majority of Israelis have voted in favour of ending the Gaza war and the atrocities committed under Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu’s regime.

According to a poll conducted by the Jerusalem Post, which included both Jewish and Arab citizens aged 18 and above, 67 per cent of respondents supported a deal for the release of hostages. However, a portion of the population remains opposed to ending the conflict.

In a separate question, 52 per cent of Israelis also supported a ceasefire with Iran, reflecting a broader public desire for peace.

In another development, French President Emmanuel Macron has reiterated calls for a ceasefire in Gaza after a call with Israeli PM Netanyahu.

He also stressed the need for “large-scale access for humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip” and reaffirmed support for a two-state solution – a political path to peace that Israel has increasingly disregarded amid its genocide on the Palestinian people.

United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is being deliberately targeted in a broader effort to erase Palestinians’ human rights.

Israel banned UNRWA from operating on its territory earlier this year. The ban also impacted the agency’s work in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
