Who Will Benefit?
The remission applies to:
- Male prisoners aged 65 or older who have served at least one-third of their sentence.
- Female prisoners aged 60 or older who have completed one-third of their sentence.
- Women inmates who have children with them in prison.
- Juvenile offenders under 18 who have served one-third of their sentence.

Who Is Not Eligible?
Not all prisoners qualify for this remission. Excluded categories include those convicted of:
- Murder
- Espionage
- Anti-state activities
- Rape
- Robbery and theft
- Kidnapping
- Terrorism
- Corruption and financial crimes
- Drug-related offenses under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act
