WEBDESK: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) to strengthen regional market cooperation. This collaboration aims to enhance financial connectivity, promote cross-border investment, and improve the overall trading environment in South Asia.

Under this agreement, PSX and its regional counterparts will focus on product development, investor education, and human resource sharing initiatives. The goal is to make stock markets more accessible and attractive for foreign and institutional investors. By working together, the three exchanges hope to improve transparency, efficiency, and technological integration within their respective markets.

The signing ceremony was attended by the senior leadership of the exchanges, including PSX Managing Director and CEO Farrukh H Sabzwari, CSE CEO Rajeeva Bandaranaike, and DSE Chairman Mominul Islam. Akif Saeed, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), was also present.

“This strategic partnership marks a significant step forward in regional market integration,” said SECP Chairman Akif Saeed at the signing ceremony.

Officials from all three stock exchanges have expressed optimism about this partnership. PSX Managing Director and CEO highlighted that this initiative is part of a broader effort to modernise Pakistan’s capital markets and increase global investor confidence. He emphasized that regional cooperation will bring new opportunities for traders and businesses in all three countries.

Investors and financial experts will closely watch how this MoU translates into actionable steps in the coming months. If successful, the PSX collaboration could set the stage for stronger ties between regional stock exchanges, ultimately benefiting the economies of Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
