Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, paid a significant visit to the Headquarters of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) today. He was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, the Defence Minister, and the Chiefs of the Armed Services, reflecting the importance of this high-level engagement.

During the visit, the leadership received an extensive briefing on the prevailing national security landscape, with particular emphasis on Pakistan’s preparedness to counter conventional threats.

The briefing addressed India’s increasingly aggressive and provocative posture along Pakistan’s eastern border, underscoring the growing need for strategic vigilance.

The session also covered regional security dynamics and the evolving threat matrix, which includes not only conventional military challenges but also hybrid warfare strategies and the use of terrorist proxies.

The Prime Minister and accompanying dignitaries stressed the urgent need for elevated national alertness, robust inter-agency coordination, and strengthened operational readiness.

They emphasized that these elements are critical to effectively deterring and, if necessary, forcefully responding to any infringement on Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Commending ISI’s professionalism, strategic foresight, and operational capabilities, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the agency’s pivotal role in defending the country’s core interests.

He highlighted ISI’s contribution to providing crucial intelligence support for sound national security decision-making amid an increasingly complex and fluid regional environment. “The entire nation stands firmly behind our brave Armed Forces,” the Prime Minister stated, adding, “The Pakistan Army is one of the most professional and disciplined forces in the world.”

The country’s civil and military leadership reaffirmed Pakistan’s unequivocal resolve to safeguard the homeland from all forms of threats—be they conventional, asymmetric, or hybrid.

They reiterated that with the full backing of the people, the Armed Forces—supported by other vital elements of national power and state institutions—remain fully capable and prepared to defend Pakistan’s security, sovereignty, and honour under all circumstances.
