WEBDESK: Federal Minister Ata Tarar, while addressing the National Assembly on Tuesday, said that Pakistan’s sovereignty is above politics and called for national unity in the face of external threats.
Speaking during the session, Ata Tarar stressed that political disagreements can wait, but defending the country is a shared responsibility. “Imran Khan is as important as any of our leadership. Today, it’s not about politics, it’s about Pakistan,” he said.
Ata Tarar urged lawmakers to set aside their personal and political differences for the time being. “There’s a time to argue and a time to stand united. If you grab my collar, I’ll grab yours too but there’s a time for everything,” he added.
The minister warned that the enemy is ready to attack and must not be taken lightly. “The enemy is not only dangerous but also cunning, ill-intentioned, and foolish. We need to be alert and stand together,” Tarar said, without naming India directly.
He strongly criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies, saying they have completely failed. Referring to Modi’s past in Gujarat, Tarar said, “The stories from Gujarat are back in the spotlight Modi’s plans have failed.”
Ata Tarar also spoke about the recent situation in Pahalgam, a town in Indian-occupied Kashmir, where he claimed India carried out a false flag operation. “Modi’s real face has been exposed to the world through this false flag in Pahalgam,” Tarar stated.
Referring to a religious event in Pahalgam, he said it was being used to cover up human rights abuses. “During the Aarti in Pahalgam, a new chapter of cruelty is being written in occupied Kashmir,” he said.
Tarar’s speech comes at a time when tensions between Pakistan and India remain high, especially over the Kashmir issue. He called on all political parties and institutions in Pakistan to unite and focus on national security, rather than engaging in internal conflicts.
“The time to fight among ourselves will come later right now, the country needs us to stand together,” he concluded.
Earlier Atta Tarrar ‘X’ account got banned in India along with other political leaders including Imran Khan, Bilawal Bhutto, Shehbaz Sharif and others.
India implemented blocking measures against the YouTube channels of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif alongside the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) which serves as Pakistan’s military media wing.
The Pahalgam attack investigation series produced by ISPR received substantial engagement from the Indian audience after exposing the Indian government’s participation.
Pakistan has strongly criticised the Indian government’s continuous censorship, while claiming to be the “world’s largest democracy.”
