A historic win for Palestinians as the movie No Other Land won an award for Best Documentary at the Oscars last night.

The movie was a collaboration between Palestinian and Israeli filmmakers and it is about Palestinians suffering and fighting for their homes destroyed by Israel’s military.

Palestinian activist, Basel Adra tells the story of the destruction of his hometown in the documentary.

Co-director of the documentary, Yuval Abraham, who is an Israeli, said, “When I look at Basel I see my brother but we are unequal. We live in a regime where I am free under civilian law but Basel has to live under military laws that destroy his life and he cannot control.”
