Matric exams have been postponed in North Waziristan, Pakistan.

The decision was made due to security concerns.

The exams were set to start from April 8 but now delayed.

New dates will be announced after consultation with relevant security agencies and administrative authorities.

According to official figures, 475,000 ninth-grade and 444,000 tenth-grade students will appear in this year’s matriculation examinations. To facilitate the process, 3,634 examination centers have been established across the province, with 25,810 staff members deployed for invigilation and administrative duties.

The education secretary also directed officials to avoid unnecessary pressure on students and focus on maintaining a supportive examination environment. 

Matric exams in Karachi

The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) on Monday officially announced the schedule for the upcoming matric examinations. The exams are set to begin on April 8, 2025, across Karachi, with approximately 375,000 students expected to participate.

The board also announced that strict security measures will be in place at all exam centers. A complete ban on mobile phones and other electronic devices will be enforced. Any student found with such devices will have them confiscated by the examination staff, in accordance with BSEK’s regulations. This move aims to prevent cheating and ensure a fair examination process.
