KARACHI: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) on Monday has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming matric examinations. The exams are set to begin on April 8, 2025, across Karachi, with approximately 375,000 students expected to participate.
BSEK confirmed that the exams will be held at 499 examination centers located throughout the city. Students can access the list of these centers on the BSEK official website, ensuring they are well-prepared for their exams.
BSEK Chairman also confirmed that all students have already been issued computerized admit cards. These admit cards are crucial for students to sit for their exams and are being closely monitored to prevent any issues on the exam day.
The board has announced that strict security measures will be in place at all exam centers. A complete ban on mobile phones and other electronic devices will be enforced. Any student found with such devices will have them confiscated by the examination staff, in accordance with BSEK’s regulations. This move aims to prevent cheating and ensure a fair examination process.
The schedule for practical examinations will be announced separately at a later date. Students are encouraged to keep an eye on BSEK official communications for any updates.
In addition to the matriculation exam schedule, the Sindh government has updated the academic calendar for the new academic year. The academic session for schools in Sindh began today, April 7, 2025, while the college session will start on August 1, 2025. Despite the changes to exam schedules, the dates for summer and winter vacations remain unchanged. Summer vacations will run from June 1 to July 31, and winter holidays will be observed from December 22 to December 31.
This new schedule comes as a result of the original exam dates in March overlapping with the holy month of Ramadan. To accommodate this, the Sindh government revised the timetable to ensure a smooth and fair examination process for all students.
