The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has failed following the arrest of Mahrang Baloch, as there are no significant demonstrations taking place in Quetta or other districts of Balochistan right now.
In Quetta and other districts—including Mastung, Dera Bugti, Kharan, Washuk, Zhob, Chaman, Khuzdar, Surab, Kalat, Hub, Lasbela, Ormara, Gwadar, and Panjgur—business activities continued as usual. Roads remained open, and the shutdown strike call was ignored.
However, in Chagai, while no roads were blocked, a shutter-down strike was observed, and BYC held a rally. In Nushki, businesses remained closed, but no roads were blocked. In Kech, no roads were closed, but a protest took place at Fida Shaheen Chowk, and a shutter-down strike was observed. Apart from these areas, the overall situation in the province remained normal.
Protest call after the arrest of Mahrang Baloch
According to details, Mahrang Baloch was arrested after propaganda by the Baloch Yakjehti March. In response, the group had announced a protest across the province today. However, the people of Balochistan rejected Mahrang Baloch, and daily life remained unaffected throughout the province.
Balochistan government spokesman Shahid Rind said nobody would be allowed to take law in their own hands. “Government could not sit silent spectator if someone created a law and order situation and would fulfil its responsibilities for the protection of the life and property of the people”, he added.
Due to the clash, the group claimed that police killed three people of them and 13 others are suffering injuries while the police said that 10 of their personnel were hurt.
According to Rind, BYC was protesting for the bodies of the culprits of Jaffar Express train attack.
