Bhutto’s daughter in tears as Zulfikar Ali Bhutto awarded Nishan-e-Pakistan

Former Prime Minister (PM) Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was posthumously awarded Nishan-e-Pakistan today (March 23rd) by his son-in-law, President Asif Ali Zardari.

Bhutto’s sole surviving child, Sanam Bhutto, along with her niece Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, received the award. As the announcement was being made, she broke down remembering her father.

Why was Zulfikar Ali Bhutto given an award?

The award was given to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in recognition of his services in the field of public service.

Today also marks the birth anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s wife, Nusrat Bhutto, which is an emotional day for the family.

Nishan-e-Pakistan is the highest civilian award in Pakistan.

FIA Additional Director General awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz

Additional Director General of Cyber Crimes Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Dr Waqaruddin Syed has been awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his outstanding national services.

He has played a key role in strengthening digital defense, tackling child exploitation, countering terrorism, preventing financial fraud, and protecting digital infrastructure.

Sitara-e-Imtiaz is the third-highest honour and civilian award in the State of Pakistan.

Foreign nationals Hyder Qurbanov and Dr Christine Brunhilde received Sitara-e-Qauid-e-Azam, while Agostino Da Polenza and Professor Valeria Picacentini were given Tamgha-e-Pakistan and Dr Xinmin Liu was awarded Tamgha-e-Quaid-e-Azam.
