WEBDESK: Lewis Hamilton secured his first victory with Ferrari by winning the sprint race at the Chinese Grand Prix. This marks an important milestone in his debut season with Ferrari after leaving Mercedes earlier this year.

Lewis Hamilton Takes the Lead

Starting from pole position, Hamilton dominated the Chinese Grand Prix sprint race, maintaining his lead from start to finish. He finished 6.889 seconds ahead of McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen claimed third place. This win is Ferrari’s first-ever sprint race victory since the format was introduced in 2021.

Adapting to Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, has been adjusting to a new car and team after 12 years with Mercedes. His win at the Chinese Grand Prix is a significant achievement, proving that he is quickly adapting to Ferrari’s setup. He emphasized the challenges of switching teams but remains optimistic about future races.

“I woke up feeling great today,” said Lewis Hamilton. “The first race [in Melbourne] was difficult. I really did feel a lot of people underestimated the steep climb it is to get into a new team, to become acclimatised within the team, understanding and communication – all sorts of things.

“The amount of critics and people I’ve heard yapping along the way, clearly not understanding maybe because they’d never had the experience or just were unaware. So it felt great to come here and be more comfortable in the car because in Melbourne I didn’t feel comfortable in the car. From lap one here this weekend, [I was] really feeling on it. The engineers and mechanics have done a great job.”

Looking Ahead to the Main Race

Despite winning the sprint race, Lewis Hamilton will start fifth in the main race, behind Piastri, George Russell, Lando Norris, and Verstappen. With McLaren showing strong performance, the main Chinese Grand Prix race is expected to be highly competitive. Tire management and strategy will play a key role in determining the winner.

Fans are eagerly waiting to see if Hamilton can continue his success in the full-length race. The Chinese Grand Prix is shaping up to be an exciting event, with top drivers battling for victory.
