LAHORE: The Punjab government has launched a new housing initiative called the Apni Zameen Apna Ghar programme, aiming to help homeless and low-income families across the province. Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced the programme to provide free 3-marla residential plots to deserving citizens who do not own land or a proper home.

This major initiative is being carried out through the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency, under the supervision of the Housing, Urban Development, and Public Health Engineering Department.

Who Can Apply for Apni Zameen Apna Ghar programme?

To qualify for the Apni Zameen Apna Ghar programme, applicants must meet a few simple conditions:

  • Be the head of a nuclear family as per NADRA records.
  • Be a permanent resident of Punjab with a valid CNIC.
  • Own and live on a piece of land up to 5 marlas in urban areas or 10 marlas in rural areas, if any.
  • Not have any criminal record or conviction in serious crimes.
  • Must not be a loan defaulter.
  • Be registered in the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) with a PMT score of 60 or less.

How to Register for Apni Zameen Apna Ghar programme?

Eligible citizens can apply for the Apni Zameen Apna Ghar programme through the official website: acag.punjab.gov.pk. The online form asks for basic information like your CNIC, contact details, and your location (district, tehsil, city).

The process is easy and free, making it accessible for people from all parts of the province.

The Apni Zameen Apna Ghar programme aims to:

  • Reduce homelessness and overcrowded housing.
  • Improve access to clean water, sanitation, and electricity.

  • Generate around 500,000 jobs by building 100,000 houses.
