ISLAMABAD: The electric bus service linking Hassanabdal with Islamabad received its long-awaited official launch on Monday thereby providing sustainable transportation access to commuters.

Sardar Faizan Haider from the family of Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan launched the service at Hazara Road in Hassanabdal. The bus launch ceremony had Rana Tariq Mahmood serving as the Deputy DG of the Metro Bus Project.

Electric buses operating on the longest inter-city route linking Taxila to Wah have been developed as affordable yet green transportation for students and daily passengers. To enhance security the buses come with both route display systems and video surveillance technology.

The new service costs Rs50 whereas the normal fare for this path currently stands at Rs400. Travellers will benefit from this service by saving 40 minutes of waiting time due to the limited route that stops fewer times.

Faizan Haider gave remarks highlighting the need for better public transport within the region while promising continuous service advancement toward Hassanabdal and Fatehjang.

This new service constitutes an important move that enhances Hassanabdal and Fatehjang and Islamabad connectivity by providing modern travel alternatives to residents.
