WEBDESK: Tremors in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Northern Punjab, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad, caused fear and panic among citizens. The Islamabad earthquake shook the federal capital, causing fear and panic among residents. According to reports, tremors were felt at around 12:30 PM, forcing many people to leave their homes and gather outside.
The Islamabad earthquake measured 5.5 on the Richter scale, as confirmed by the Seismic Monitoring Center. The quake’s depth was recorded at 12 kilometres below the ground.
Tremors were reported in Islamabad and its surrounding areas, including Taxila and Wah Cantt, where residents rushed out of homes, offices, and schools in fear. Similar reports came from Haripur, Abbottabad, and Attock, as well as several other cities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Despite the intensity of the experience, no injuries or property damage have been reported so far. Authorities are monitoring the situation and have urged citizens to stay calm but alert in case of aftershocks.
The Islamabad earthquake was felt in various sectors of the city and also in some parts of Rawalpindi. Emergency services remain on standby, and the public is advised to follow safety guidelines during any future seismic activity.
