Islamabad’s local court has announced its reserved verdict on a petition seeking the registration of a case against PM Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and others.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka dismissed the plea, rejecting the request to file a case against the prime minister, interior minister, and other officials.
A citizen, Gul Khan, had filed the petition over the alleged killing of his son and others during Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) November 26 protest. However, the court dismissed the request.
It is pertinent to mention that the petitioner claimed his son was allegedly killed at D-chowk on November 26 and had sought the registration of a case against PM Shehbaz and others.
In another developement, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday extended the interim bail of PTI founder Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi in the November 26 protest case.
During the hearing, Bushra Bibi filed a request for exemption from attendance and to be included in the investigation of the case.
In response, Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra stated that he would direct the police to include Bushra Bibi in the investigation.
Later, the court issued orders to extend Bushra Bibi’s interim bail until May 5.
