LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved a new project called ‘Sahulat-on-the-Go Bazaars’, aimed at helping people buy daily essentials easily and at affordable prices.

This one-of-a-kind initiative will begin with a pilot project in Lahore, where 816 stalls will be set up at 14 roadside locations. These markets will sell food and other basic items in small, uniform cottage-style shops placed along the roads.

The Chief Minister chaired a special meeting where she asked for a complete plan to be prepared. The target is to launch the pilot within four months. The bazaars will be built on government-owned land beside roads in areas such as Multan Road, Raiwind, Faisal Town, Moon Market, Bedian Road, Shahdara, and others.

Maryam Nawaz also stressed the need for cleanliness and proper security at these markets to ensure a safe and pleasant shopping experience.

The government plans to expand this project to every tehsil in Punjab, making it easier for low-income families and daily wage workers to access essential goods at reasonable prices.

During the meeting, Chairman of the Punjab Model Bazaar Management Company, Muhammad Afzal Khokhar, presented a report on the success of model bazaars during the holy month of Ramadan. The Chief Minister praised the efforts and encouraged continued work to support the public.

This project is part of CM Maryam Nawaz’s broader mission to improve the lives of citizens by making shopping more convenient, organized, and affordable throughout the province.
