WEBDESK (Azaad English): Apple have officially unveiled their new budget iPhone 16E, on Wednesday. The iPhone 16E was designed to win back mid-market consumers at home and in crucial growth markets in China and India.
The new phone, which replaces the iPhone SE 4 in the budget series, will take on popular Android smartphones at a time when rivals Samsung and Huawei are adding AI tools to their devices.
Sales of Apple iPhones dropped last quarter, and the sales of its budget iPhones have gone down as a result.
The iPhone 16e will cost $599, a $170 boost from the previous budget iPhone, the SE series. It’s features are closer to Apple’s regular flagship iPhones and include a powerful chip to run Apple intelligence.
What’s Different in iPhone 16E?
- More prominent display: It is said that the screen size is 6.1 inches, which is considerably larger than the 4.7inch display from before.
- Face ID will be brought in for phone unlocking, and the customary physical button will be eliminated.
- The 16E has Apple’s newest A18 processor, exactly the one inside the iPhone 16 along with a 4-core GPU.
Aside from having no wide camera lens, one missing button and a slightly different display, the 16E looks much like its pricier siblings.
Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing, Kaiann Drance, said, “iPhone 16e packs in the features our users love about the iPhone 16 lineup, including breakthrough battery life, fast performance powered by the latest-generation A18 chip, an innovative 2-in-1 camera system, and Apple Intelligence.”
Pre-orders for the new iPhone 16e will begin from Friday, 21st February.
