Multan Sultans’ owner, Ali Tareen has called out the Pakistan Super League (PSL) management for once again hiring singer Ali Zafar for the tournament’s anthem.

Tareen questioned why the management keeps choosing the same artist despite the abundance of talent in Pakistan. Without directly naming Zafar, he referred to him as a “middle-aged dude”.

He also revealed that the franchise had raised concerns about the artist, yet he was still hired.

“They talk about making this the biggest PSL ever, yet keep giving space to the same recycled voices”, he added in an Instagram story.

It is pertinent to mention that Ali Zafar has sung almost half of anthems.

He sang last year anthem too with Aima Baig.

Audience reactions

Ali Tareen may have a point about giving anthems to different singers, but the audience seems to disagree. A day earlier, PSL revealed about Ali Zafar’s involvement in an Instagram post, sparking excitement among fans.

While many celebrated his return, others speculated that he would not be the only artist on the anthem this time.

When is the PSL going to start?

PSL is set to begin on April 11, with Islamabad United facing Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi. The event will feature 34 matches across four venues, with the final scheduled to take place on May 18 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. Cricket fans are eagerly awaiting the action as the teams compete for the championship title.

Additionally, an exhibition match is planned in Peshawar on April 8.
