WEBDESK: A fresh weather update by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warns of more rain, strong winds, and hailstorms across the country over the next 24 to 48 hours. Citizens are advised to stay cautious and avoid unnecessary travel as multiple cities continue to face unstable weather conditions.
According to the recent weather report Islamabad together with Karachi along with Lahore and Peshawar and Balochistan and Sindh provinces face additional rainfall risks. Local flooding of Islamabad occurred due to nonstop rainfall. Commissioned authorities insist that residents keep indoors and monitor additional information for developing weather conditions.
Weather Update: Punjab
Heavy rainstorms in Punjab’s districts combined with Faisalabad as well as Jhelum and Lodhran has affected the everyday lifestyle of residents. Swat together with Abbottabad and Malakand within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province experience periodic rainfall. The regions containing these areas demonstrate high susceptibility to landslide occurrences particularly in hillside regions.In parts of Punjab, including Faisalabad, Jhelum, and Lodhran, heavy showers have impacted daily life.
Meanwhile, Swat, Abbottabad, and Malakand in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also witnessing intermittent rain. These areas are prone to landslides, especially in hilly regions.
Weather Update: Azad Kashmir
The areas in Azad Kashmir have experienced the same damage as other regions. Heavy rainfall throughout the night turned Pulandri into a dangerous situation where various roadways became slippery.
According to PMD’s weather information upper regions will experience chances of additional rain during the next days.
Weather Update: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
One of the most affected areas is Karak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Torrential rain and hail caused flash flooding, which sadly led to the deaths of two people. Livestock losses were also reported. Farmers are concerned about damage to ripe wheat crops due to the hailstorm.
Weather Update: Balochistan
Balochistan’s Kohlu and Dera Bugti districts are also dealing with severe weather. Thunderstorms and rain have flooded low-lying areas, making transport difficult and raising concerns about property damage.
The Meteorological Department forecasts that thunderstorms together with strong winds will persist during this week but warn that both power lines and substandard construction may experience damage.
