WEBDESK: A new series of rain and snowfall is expected to begin in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from March 9 to March 16, prompting authorities to issue a weather alert.
According to the Meteorological Department, the new weather system will bring thunderstorms, rain, and snowfall to mountainous regions, affecting both upper and plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“But rain-wind/thunderstorm [snow over the hills] is likely at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan,” the PMD said in its daily weather update.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Punjab and KP has directed district administrations to remain on high alert and take preemptive measures to avoid any adverse incidents caused by heavy rain or snowfall.
