Rain expected in Punjab during Ramadan

In an interesting development, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued an alert for more rain in Punjab during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to details, rain is predicted in most districts of Punjab during Ramadan from March 9 to 16.

“Rainfall and snowfall are predicted in Murree, Galiyat and other mountainous areas,” stated the PDMA spokesperson.

DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia has directed the commissioners and deputy commissioners to remain alert.

“Alerts have been issued to WASA, Rescue, Irrigation Department, Livestock and other relevant departments,” stated the DG PDMA.

Rain in Punjab would include cities like Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab and Mandi Bahauddin.

Likewise, rainfall is also likely in Punjab’s Lahore, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad and Toba Tek Singh.

Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Okara, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Khanewal, Layyah, Bhakkar, Kot Addu, Rahim Yar Khan, Sahiwal and Pakpattan will also experience cloudy weather.

“Citizens are requested to avoid unnecessary travel in bad weather conditions. The situation is being monitored 24/7 in the PDMA control room,” advised the DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia.
