Shoaib Malik has said that he is not planning to retire anytime soon.
During the post-match talk following Pakistan’s dominant win over Australia in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, Malik said that he will continue to play cricket till he is in a wheelchair.
He expressed his love for the game and revealed about his fitness routine.
He said, “I eat clean, I sleep well, and I eat healthy. I still enjoy coming back to the ground, and I love my cricket. This is my secret to staying fit,” Malik said.
“I will continue playing cricket until I am in a wheelchair,” the 43-year-old cricketer added.
It is pertinent to mention that he has represented Pakistan in 124 T20Is, amassing 2,435 runs and taking 28 wickets.
The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan semifinal of WCL was set to take place in Birmingham on July 31 (tomorrow). However, India refused to play the match, and now Pakistan has advanced to the finals.
Earlier, the India vs Pakistan match of WCL 2025 was cancelled as some Indian cricketers had reservations.
According to WCL, the match caused discomfort to Indian cricketers. Indian cricketers, including Harbhajan Singh and Yusuf Pathan, pulled out of a World Championship of Legends.
It is pertinent to mention that ever since the Pahalgam incident, India’s attitude has further strained ties with Pakistan.
Another match between Pakistan and India of Asia Cup will take place on September 14, Sunday.
The prestigious tournament will take place from September 9th to 28th.
The schedule of the Asia Cup has already been announced, and many fans are looking forward to it.
