Scared of losing again? Indian media calls for Asia Cup boycott

Asia Cup boycott

Ahead of the big tournament, Indian media have started talking against it and are now pushing for an Asia Cup boycott.

The prestigious tournament will take place from September 9th to 28th.

The schedule of the Asia Cup has already been announced, and many fans are looking forward to it. However, India seems to have a habit of turning everything into politics.

Will India join the Asia Cup boycott movement?

As of now, there is a discussion going on in the inner circle of Indian administration regarding participation in the Asia Cup.

Earlier, the India vs Pakistan match of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 was cancelled as some Indian cricketers had reservations.

According to WCL, the match caused discomfort to Indian cricketers. Indian cricketers, including Harbhajan Singh and Yusuf Pathan, pulled out of a World Championship of Legends.

It is pertinent to mention that ever since the Pahalgam incident, India’s attitude has further strained ties with Pakistan.

The match between India and Pakistan is going to take place on September 14, Sunday.

Fans around the globe have wondered about possible showdown between India and Pakistan after recent tensions.

Previously, Mohsin Naqvi had stated that talks are ongoing with the Indian Cricket Board, hinting at a possible showdown between India vs Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup in September.

Speaking to the media, Naqvi remarked, “We will announce it shortly. We have had discussions with the BCCI, and we will resolve a few issues shortly. Everything will be resolved soon.”

The annual meeting of the Asian Cricket Council was held in Dhaka under the chairmanship of President Mohsin Naqvi.
