RAWALPINDI (Azaad English): The city traffic police have announced their ‘Rawalpindi traffic plan’ to facilitate citizens during the ICC Champions Trophy matches that will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from February 23rd to February 27th.
During the movement of the competing teams, arrangements have been made to keep traffic going through alternate routes.
To handle the expected congestion, over 367 traffic officers will be stationed at key routes to maintain the flow of traffic. Furthermore, commuters will be kept in the loop through regular updates on traffic police’s social media channels and FM radio.
Five new parking areas have been designated near the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. A shuttle service being managed by district administration will be transporting fans to the stadium from the parking lots.

Rawalpindi Traffic Plan for Champions Trophy 2025 matches:
Murree Road from Faizabad to Double Road will remain closed during the arrival and departure of teams at the stadium for the Champions Trophy games.
Traffic from Islamabad will have to move through the Expressway instead of Faizabad, while people travelling between Rawalpindi and Islamabad will be redirected via Chandni Chowk and Rehmanabad.
Traffic coming from Islamabad through 9th Avenue will have to enter Rawalpindi via Faizabad expressway and IJP road through Pindora Chungi, Katarian, Pirwadhai mor, and Chak Madad. Traffic going the other way, from Rawalpindi to Islamabad via Double Road, will enter Islamabad through Murree Road from Faizabad.
Champions Trophy matches in Rawalpindi:
New Zealand will face Bangladesh on February 24 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Next, on 25th February, Australia will be playing against the South African cricket team in a group-deciding game.
Lastly, on 27th February, Pakistan will take on Bangladesh in front of their passionate home crowd.
