As Ramadan approaches each year, public and private sector employees await the announcement of office timings. For Ramadan 2025, office timings are once again a concern.
Under federal or provincial governments, employees working in the public sector usually enjoy more perks as they get a greater reduction in office timings during Ramadan compared to private sector employees. However, office timings in Ramadan also vary in the private sector from company to company.
The reduction in office timings is granted so that Muslim employees can perform their religious obligations in the holy month. This year too like every year people are taking to social media to inquire about Ramadan office timings.
Ramadan office timings 2025:
The office timings by the federal or any provincial government have not been announced yet, but considering the office timings announced for Ramadan 2024, here is a tentative schedule for 2025.
In 2024, the federal government announced the working timings for all offices from 9:00am to 3:00pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, the office timings were from 9:00am to 12:30pm.
The above schedule was for offices working five days a week. The Ramadan timings for offices working six days a week were from 9:00am to 2:00pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday. The timings for offices operating on either five or six days were the same on Friday.
Considering the office timings of 2024 during Ramadan, this year too, in 2025, the offices working under the federal government are expected to follow the same Ramadan schedule.
However, nothing can be said for sure until the Establishment Division issues a notification regarding Ramadan office timings 2025.
Ramadan office timings Sindh
Last year, the Sindh government reduced the office timings to 10am to 4pm for offices operating five days a week and 10am to 3pm for offices operating six days a week. However, the office timing for Fridays remained the same for both operating models, from 10amto 1pm.
The office timings announced by the Sindh government apply to all government offices across Sindh, including Karachi and Hyderabad.
Ramadan office timings Punjab
Just like Sindh, the Punjab government also announced a Ramadan schedule for offices working under the provincial government. For offices operating five days a week, working hours were from 10am to 4pm. Offices that followed a six-day workweek functioned from 10am to 3:30pm. On Fridays, all offices observed reduced hours, operating from 9am to 1pm.
Offices working under the Punjab government, including those in major cities like Lahore, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi, followed the same timings. In 2025, the provincial government is expected to announce the same timings for Ramadan as last year.
The Punjab government has announced revised timings for schools in the province for Ramadan 2025. However, it has not yet announced any revised timings for offices.
State Bank of Pakistan Ramadan timings

During Ramadan, office hours of banks were from 9:00am to 3:30pm from Monday to Thursday, with a prayer break from 2:00pm to 2:30pm. On Fridays, offices operated from 8:30am to 1:00pm without a break.
Banks and Microfinance Banks (MFBs) also followed the revised business hours for public dealings during Ramadan. From Monday to Thursday, banking hours were from 9:00am to 2:00pm without a break, while on Fridays, banks operated from 8:30am to 1:00pm without a break.
Ramadan 2025 is expected to start on March 2nd in Pakistan. However, the final announcement will be made after the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s meeting.
